Happiness is a Choice.

#001 Quote of the Day

yes it is !
Say hello to my new layout :D not mine, didn't even tweak it to look as if it was customized by myself. Since I've stepped into the working world, felt like I'm too old for a fancy blogskin. Honestly speaking, I don't want it to look like I've spent to much time just tweaking the HTMLs skin. nyehehe.

hi & lo.

By Faznur Amalia in

taken from my instagram.

Hello.

Just in case you're wondering where I have been, naah, not anywhere. I haven't been blogging for a while because life has been pretty tough on me lately. I don't want to divert the negative vibes I've been receiving to my reader (if there is any :p).  I'm just thankful, for having the most supportive best friend-slash-boyfriend that I ever had.

The pink Fed 5B I had malfunctioned after a few attempts while rolling the film. It was pretty much expected and nothing can go smoothly considering the camera was a refurbished camera with a mint condition. Thank god for the warranty, the boyfie went to the shop and got it replaced (upgraded) to a new one. Now it works perfectly. I've lost 1 camera roll which I was about to send it for processing. Tsk *shokay*. More rolls to come, so I don't have to worry much.

tata for now,

Photos taken using iPhone4.

Dad came to KL on monday to have his sinus surgery. The whole family have a history of having sinus and asthma. I did not know that surgery can actually fix sinus and thought I'm gonna live like this forever. Lucky thing, will probably get my sinus fix too. The experience is kinda personal, so I'm just gonna drop a few photos.

Kodaks #1

By Faznur Amalia in , ,

Camera : Fed 5B by Red Army Camera.
Film : Kodak ISO 400

So I received my processed films & prints for my very first kodak using Fed 5B. It took me about a week to wait for my kodak, then I found out a shop at SS2 could processed the films in just two hours *sigh*. For most of you who don't know what a Fed 5B is, it's a soviet range-finder camera which was produced during the 70's.

The outcome was pretty satisfying than what I've expected.  The pictures produced by the camera are sharp, almost lie a DSLR quality. Most of the picture i took came out a bit underexposed, and blurry but prolly okay for first timers kan? *masuk bakul angkat sendiri*
Yet, I'm wondering why the prints came out with a strong blue hue.

More to come,

The Jungle Book

By Faznur Amalia in ,

Photos taken using Fujifilm Fine Pix x100

I found myself restless tonight. I told myself to let it all go, so I can sleep well like a cat, meow.

So last weekend, someone received some extra moolah and bought himself a decent camera. Decent? probably more than decent! This sneaky boy got himself a Fujifilm FinePix x100 and who wouldn't want to see a happy boy with his toy? trololol. I named it Laila. It's his, but i got the privilage to name it! close enough. Awesome camera I must say, just beautiful. I fell in love with photography all over again after I sold my Canon 550D a while ago. To be honest, I hate that camera so much, it's heavy, and I did not put the manual shooting into good use. It was always on the Auto mood, so I could just point and shoot. Then again, I already swear to myself I would not get myself a compact camera (for no apparent reason). This camera is perfect for someone who don't want to carry their bulky DSLR around but in need of something light, works and produce the same (or probably better) quality as the higher range cameras. To my surprise, the camera is light and slim for it's 60's RF camera like design. Holding it, it does feel like holding your grandpa's camera. The black leather texture gives you grip. It has a hybrid viewfinder, where it has a switch where you can opt for a live view viewfinder or a point and shoot viewfinder. I find it kinda odd, but ehhh, who could blame technology.

Full in excitement, that brings us to the Jungle Book story. I've always wanted to go to Zoo Negara, as boring as it may sound, I'm curious how bad could it be. Finally, with the perfect timing and the perfect gadget, Laila was brought to the Zoo for a test drive. It was warm and sunny that day, and clearly, we weren't dressed for the occasion. Should have worn something mehh, blame our random last minutes activities. The trip wasn't so bad, only there weren't many animals to be seen, nothing fancy. Most of the animals looked kinda disturbed and sleepy.

Went to Pavillion after because this boy wanted to get another camera, Joco. Arrived at the Click Shop, he got a lil dissapointed because it was digital. Takde research ke boy? main suka saja. I don't know what had got into him, but he got me a Red Army Camera's Fed 5B :D actually it was a choice between Diana +, but who could resist this Russian RF camera :D For being the best boyfriend anyone could ask for (no, not because you bought me a camera), I would love to thank you again for the gazzilion time for this baby :D Just a short note because I'm already to sleepy to type, the Click Shop boy was a douchebag. He didn't want us to buy the camera, and told us to Google and do some research about it. I don't blame him for being a proud Lomographer but motherfucker thought we looked like some high school brat trying to get something hipsterish for the FB profile picture. on the side note again, we didn't get to buy the film's because he insist we should try the normal kodak first. ok fair enough boy.

*yawns*

It's 1:30 am nao, I shall go to bed.

night loves,
