My mail finally came today (again). This time, the mailman brought me a camera + casual bag I might add. I've been looking for pretty, fancy bags for my DLSR. Its just too much when I'm carrying a handbag and a camera sling bag all at once. And thus, finally, something ordinary caught my eye. Yes, ironic isn't it when I mentioned previously in my post about being ordinary. Well in this case, my being ordinary camera bag case is extra-ordinary! what makes it special is that, its not ordinary to have a camera bag that is NOT ordinary.
This bag is called Lope Lope, made by a brand called Standard Number from Korea. Boy, stuffs from Korea sure don't come cheap as what I've thought.
Quality was satisfactory I suppose, and I'm estimating it will last about 1-2 years in my custody :) I'm a rascal like that. The fact that it was a little but dissapointing it wasn't exactly made of PVC leather, more like a layer thin elastic leather look fabric being glued to multiple layers of fabric lining, despite the cuts I found in certain areas. Imagine when sharp edges glides through the surface of the bag? Nightmare! Picture the 90's faux leather sofa being scratched by a cat? NOOOO.
Camera is protected by sponge compartments, which is a plus, but was quite tight keeping my 550 D. If i were to have bigger lens, it wouldn't fit definitely. Me? I don't need a bigger lens, so blargh! Bag is secured with metal magnetic clasp, which is strong. I don't mind, it was the reason why I bought it, for an easy let-me-take-my-camera-now-to-shoot-that-only-once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Now I can go shopping or even weekend outing without looking like a freshmen on photography assignment!
All in all, despite the cons I've written, it was a good buy for someone casual, like me!
